The ability to work from home has remained since Corona, but are you entitled to it?
This is what the law says
There is no such thing as a legal right to work from home in the Netherlands. However, you can request this from your employer under the Flexible Working Act. You must do this in writing and at least 2 months before the desired effective date.
Consent employer
Your employer must consider your request and then grant or deny it, giving reasons. So there must be a good reason for the rejection, but in principle the employer decides on this. If an employer has agreed to allow you to work from home, this cannot be reversed.
Law change
The good news, however, is that the House of Representatives has passed the "Work Where You Want" law. If this law also passes the Senate, your employer will have to assess your request to work from home reasonably. Just saying no will no longer be possible!
