Works Council

What is the works council?

A works council (OR) is a participation body within an organization that represents the interests of employees and advises the employer on important decisions affecting employees. The duties and powers of the works council are laid down in the Works Councils Act (WOR). In addition to advisory rights, the Works Council has, among other things, the right to information, the right to consultation with the employer, and the right to consent to certain decisions on regulations within the organization.
