What is the working conditions law?

The Working Conditions Act (Arbowet) aims to ensure safe and healthy working conditions for employees. The Working Conditions Act sets requirements for the workplace and working conditions, with the aim of preventing work-related health problems and accidents, and establishes responsibilities for both employers and employees. Among other things, it contains obligations about (drawing up) health and safety policies that meet legal standards. These include things like identifying and evaluating workplace risks, implementing preventive measures, employing a prevention officer and in-house emergency response, granting access to and from an occupational health and safety expert, and providing proper training and instructions to employees. In addition, the Occupational Health and Safety Act plays a role in regulating the role of occupational physicians and occupational health services, which are responsible for supporting employers and employees on health and work-related issues.
