What is the UWV, and what does it do?
The UWV, or the Employee Insurance Agency, administers benefits such as WW, WAO, WIA, and Wajong, and helps job seekers find work. For employers, the UWV is involved, among other things, in applications for a dismissal permit based on business-related reasons (ground a) and long-term illness (ground b), as well as in applications for a work permit.
