What types of leave are there?
Leave refers to a period during which an employee takes time off from work while continuing to receive pay. Leave can take various forms, such as maternity leave and postpartum leave (Article 3:1 WAZO), birth leave (Article 4:2 WAZO), parental leave (Article 6:1 WAZO), adoption leave or foster care leave (Article 3:2 of the WAZO), care leave (short-term and long-term, Articles 5:1 and 5:9 of the WAZO), emergency leave and short-term absence leave, vacation leave, and special leave, such as in the event of a death, a wedding, or a move (Article 4:1 of the WAZO).
