What is good employment practice?

Good employment practices refer to the employer’s responsibility to ensure a safe, healthy, and respectful work environment for employees, in which their interests and rights are respected and protected (Article 7:611 of the Dutch Civil Code). This includes, among other things, offering appropriate terms of employment, complying with labor laws, preventing discrimination and harassment in the workplace, facilitating training and development opportunities, and promoting—or failing to promote—a healthy work-life balance.
